Since 2020, I’ve been working on my work of art about one’s grave,
artifacts and things that they remind me of, such as some brilliant ideas
and my cats’ eyes, etc., like playing a word game with the title of my
artwork, 'Inside the Grave', ‘妙案’, 猫眼’. It has evolved a lot into a series of my work of art.
I’d like to show you the various aspects of my artwork, including my
paintings and installation works.
While preparing for my exhibition, life after life, speculation on the world,
the purity and fragility of the human body have been the source of my
imagination.
I’ve been having fun making my work of art. With all of my inspriation, I
can’t wait to show you my future work!

지난 2020년부터 이야기 한 무덤, 유물, 묘안의 작업들이 이제 큰 하나의 덩어리가 되어 가기 시작했습니다.
지난날 보다 좀 더 구체적이고, 명랑하며, 뒤섞여있는 모습을 평면, 설치, 그리고 다양한 요소로 선보이고자 합니다.
삶 뒤에 삶, 세계의 줌인아웃, 인간의 간악함과 순수 많은 상상을 하며 준비했습니다.
다음 전시의 영감이 벌써부터 떠오를만큼 요즘 작업하는게 참 즐겁습니다. 많은 관심 부탁드립니다
How we perceive death is probably what makes us live like a human
being, however, in everyday life, we don’t appreciate the value of death
as much as we appreciate life. Through her work of art, the artist, Minju
Lee tells us that we can view death as a part of our life like we
appreciate life more when we think of our own mortality, realizing the
vital force in our body and that of all living creatures around us. All of the
little incidents in our daily life is what makes the shape of our life, which
is what makes us valuable after death.

죽음에 대한 인식은 인간을 인간이게끔 하는 기준이 되지만, 일상에서 죽음은 삶에 비해 소홀히 다루어진다. 작가 이민주는 작품을 통해 일상 속 존재하는 삶과 생명 속에서 죽음을 볼 수도 있으며, 죽음 속에서 삶과 생명력을 발견할 수 있다는 것을 이야기한다. 하루하루의 작은 것들이 쌓여 내가 되고, 삶이 되며, 이것이 죽음 이후에도 지나간 삶을 혹은 존재를 가치 있게 만들어 주는 것이다.
